The COVID-19 Restrictions are Being Eased.

The COVID-19 restrictions are being eased. This is not full turn off of these previous restrictions but they are being eased.

To comply with the current COVID-19 restrictions students will need to book classes.

Students will also need to bring a limited number of props to class.

For a more detailed explanation of the situation please read the COVID-19 updates below.

Electronic Payment During COVID-19

The studio is trialling two electronic payments during the COVID-19 restrictions:

  • Direct bank transfer, or
  • Mobile phone bank apps using PayID.

Find out more about these payment options.

COVID-19 Operational Restrictions

In order to re-open the studio needs comply with several government COVID-19 operational restrictions. I am currently developing a COVID-Plan as required.

This plan is presently in draft form and as I finalise its various aspects I will post updates on the studio's facebook page and website.

Working Within COVID-19 at the Studio

The studio's COVID-19 Plan is still under review, but a summary of the how the plan will operate with in the studio can be found here - Working Within COVID-19 at the Studio.

As this plan evolves I will update the web site.

Props Use COVID-19 Restrictions

As part of the current government directed Covid-19 restrictions prop (equipment) use must be minimal. Any common props that cannot be cleaned between classes cannot be used.

The only props provided by the studio will be the chairs, which can be cleaned between classes.

This means that students will need to bring their own props to the class. I will be shaping the classes so that a minimum of props are required.

Students will to need bring the following props:

  • A suitable yoga mat,
  • 1 or 2 yoga blocks,
  • A yoga belt and
  • 2 suitable yoga blankets.

If students do not currently own these props they can be bought from the studio.

COVID-19 Studio Update 19/05/20

Studio Reopening Monday May 25th.

At present it is planned that the yoga studio will reopen for classes next week.

Much still remains uncertain at this stage with regards to the operation of the studio in this COVID19 world, but at this stage I am confident that we will be able to open and operate albeit under several new restrictions.

The first class will be the 10am Beginners class on Monday May the 25th with classes for the rest of the week following the schedule prior to close down 2 months ago. This schedule may need to be changed in the coming weeks depending on how well the studio operates in the new environment.

Requirements such as a restricted studio capacity (at present only 9 students) and the need to maintain a detailed attendance register (for contact tracing) will now require that students to book classes prior to arriving at the studio.

Booking classes will avoid potential student disappointment of being turned away from a full class. Of course by booking a class, students will be expected to pay for that class even if they are unable to attend a booked class at the last moment or forget.

The booking of classes is a new approach for the studio and as an interim method I have set up a booking page here.

This booking page will need you to provide your name and several contact details. This is a government requirement for the studio to operate. If the booking details are noticeably false the booking will be deleted to make sure available class spaces remain available for legitimate students. Past experience with the studio registration page on the existing web site has told me that this is a real issue.

I will be posting further updates as I finalise the arrangements including:

  • How student spacing will work within the studio,
  • Student entry into and out of the studio,
  • What props student will be expected to bring and what they can't bring.
